
Head 2 Work (H2W) is a service of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit of Liverpool Hospital. H2W is a pre-vocational rehabilitation service which aims to provide vocational assessment and retraining of work skills and behaviours by providing an environment in which the clients are actually working in fields or activities of interest which would occur in open employment. H2W is Work Cover accredited so we are able assist clients who have Workers Compensation claims to return to employment.
H2W is located in an industrial complex and is fitted with a mechanics/ panel beaters workshop, a wood work shop, a manual handling/stores area and a clerical office. H2W also runs a café programme and a gardening programme. These programs are run at H2W or at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit.
The Woodwork Area
People with a brain injury are assessed for their ability to return to a pre-existing
or possible future job. The client is then placed on a minimum 4 week work based program
aimed at retraining or increasing work skills, and then, they are either:
