Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE)

Established in 1999, CCORE is affiliated to the Cancer Therapy Centre, Liverpool Hospital. CCORE aims to improve cancer outcomes through research and the implementation of best practice measures into routine clinical practice in the treatment of cancer. CCORE aims to cover the broad spectrum of clinical cancer research including surgery, medical and radiation oncology.

It will achieve this aim through the following strategies:

* Establish, implement and evaluate best practice guidelines and evidence summaries
* Explore methods by which best practice guidelines may be implemented locally
* Cancer clinical outcomes research
* Refine methodologies of clinical research including quality of life, economic and qualitative programs
* Establish partnerships and linkages between clinicians, universities and other clinical research groups locally and internationally, eg. Australian Network for Effective Health Care, Ontario Cancer Treatment Practice Guidelines Initiative and joint research projects in conjunction with clinicians at Westmead Hospital, St. George Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Newcastle Mater Hospital
