Health Promotions

Promoting health is an important part of our role. A joint program with our colleagues in the Community Nursing Team is the Alley Cats Show for Kindergarten students in Macarthur. The program teaches good health. It has games, songs and lots of audience participation.

Involvement with primary school children and teachers is a part of our role. We consider this connection with schools valuable as; it gives us opportunity to check children’s hearing and vision if teachers, school counsellors or parents are concerned. It also gives us opportunity to talk with teachers and other school staff in effort to promote health, provide resources and encourage a healthy school community.
