The Child and Family Nurses of South West Sydney Area Health Service Macarthur
would like to introduce you to their service.
During the latter part of 2000 the Primary Health Nursing Teams of Macarthur
restructured into two teams. The two teams are:
- Community Nursing.
- Child and Family Nursing Team.
OUR TEAM
Child and Family Nursing Team
The Child and Family Nursing team is based at Narellan Community Health Centre.
The Nursing team consist
of Registered Nurses as well as an Enrolled Nurse. There are currently 2
lactation consultants on the team and others who have done post graduate
studies in Early Childhood.
What are we about?
The Child and Family Nursing Team seek to provide a flexible and family
based service to families with children 0-16 years in Macarthur, with an
emphasis on families with children 0-5 years.

Families First
The Child and Family Nursing Team of Macarthur are seeking to deliver their
service with a families first focus. What is Families First? Families First
is a strategy sponsored by the N.S.W Government to increase the effectiveness
of early intervention and prevention services in helping families raise healthy,
happy children. Families First encourages home visiting and treating parents
as experts. It involves a close link with allied health, the hospital
and other agencies.
Geographics
The Child and Family Nursing Team Provide a service to people in the Macarthur
region which covers from Yanderra to Glenfield.
