TITLE:	Women's Health Strategic Plan Review
PROJECT COORDINATOR:	Margo Moore, Women's Health Coordinator

PROJECT SUMMARY:	The SWSAHS Women’s Health Plan 1995-98 and the Health Plan for Non-English Speaking Background Communities in South Western Sydney 1995 – 98 are due to be reviewed and new strategic directions developed. It is proposed to set up a steering committee to oversee the review of these two plans and development of new strategic directions in these areas. The terms of reference for the Steering Committee will be:  To oversee the evaluation of the Women’s Health and Multicultural Health Plans  To provide direction and advice to the Health Services Planning Unit, the Area Multicultural Health Coordinator and the Area Women’s Health Coordinator in the development of revised plans  To oversee the development of a revised Women’s Health Plan and Multicultural Health Plan by June 1999.

HEALTH ISSUE:	Health services planning and evaluation
GOALS: Health Outcome	To evaluate the current SWSAHS Women's Health Strategic Plan 1995-98. To consult with women and service providers around future directions for women's health to 2005. To develop strategic directions for women's health within SWSAHS to 2005.
STRATEGIES: Process Activities	Establish a representative steering committee to oversee the review of the existing plan and to provide advice on the development of a revised plan. Conduct a survey of women's health iniatives within SWSAHS. Conduct interviews and focus groups with key informants to evaluate the existing plan. Conduct consultations with women and service providers around the development of the revised plan.
