TITLE:	Day of Action Against Sexual Assault, August 26th 1999.

PROJECT PARTNERSHIPS:	Non-government Women's Health services, Sexual Assault Services, local Councils in SWS.
PROJECT SUMMARY:	August 26th is an annual day of Action Against Sexual Assault which commemorates the victims and survivors of sexual violence, honours all women who work and have worked against sexual violence, and celebrates women's infinite capacity for growth and hope for the future.
TARGET GROUP:	All women especially women who have suffered sexual assault or who work against sexual assault.
HEALTH ISSUE:	Violence against women.
GOALS: Health Outcome	To increase awareness about the adverse health effects of sexual asault. To increase awareness about services available to victims and survivors of sexual assault. To celebrate women's capacity for survival and growth following sexual assault.
STRATEGIES: Process Activities	Local Councils in Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool and Campbelltown were requested for donations of 100 seedlings that could be given to women on the day of Action Against Sexual Assault. The seedlings will serve as a permanent reminder of the aims of the day. Additional information will be distributed with contact details of Sexual Assault and Women's Health Services in SWSAHS and written resources available from local libraries.

FUNDING:	Donations of seedlings from local Councils.
