TITLE: Triple Care Farm Women’s Reproductive Health and Sexuality Education Project

PROJECT PARTNERSHIPS: Women's Health Nurse Bowral Community Health Centre
PROJECT SUMMARY: The project will develop a sexual health education program for the young women who attend Triple Care Farm. The project will enable us to develop goals and a curriculum outline for the program. A major focus of the project will be to train staff and develop and obtain resources required to implement the program on an ongoing basis. The project will include implementation of the program for staff and an initial group of young women. Following this the program will be adapted for use with young men

Promote sexual health in disadvantaged young women at Triple Care Farm through the development of a reproductive health and sexuality education program.
STRATEGIES:
Process Activities
1.Planning Phase: - Organisation of focus groups - Establishment of Networks - Establishment of working party - Review existing priograms and modify appropriately 2.Implementation Phase: - Develop evaluation sheets. - Conduct the Education program for 1. Consumers and Workers - Compile resource booklet 3. Evaluation Phase - Run evaluation session - Review program in accordance with evaluation

FUNDING: Women's Health Promotion Seeding Grants
The areas of the Health Continuum that the project addresses are:
  • Prevention
  • Early detection
  • Creating supportive environments for health
  • Developing health literacy
  • Training health care providers
  • Increasing participation of women in decision making in health
EVALUATION: 1. Process Evaluation: Feedback sheets to be completed by staff and workers. Evaluation session to discuss the Education Program with participants 2. Compilation of a resource inventory, including educational resources at Triple Care Farm and elsewhere, and treatment and support services.
