Ambulatory care is about treating patients, with suitable conditions,
in places other than hospital, normally their own home in conjunction
with local doctor.
Ambulatory care allows the patient to have a very active role in decision
making about their health care in conjunction with a team of highly
skilled professionals including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists,
occupational therapist, Social worker and Pharmacists.
People have a choice as to whether they would like to participate in
the program and it is a service provided at no cost to the patient,
although Medicare bulk billing is done in some cases.
