About Us
Fairfield Hospital is a General Hospital providing 200 beds and caters for approximately 16,069 inpatient
separations per year
The hospital has 4 operating rooms, 8 delivery rooms and a family centred delivery room. It also offers
services such as emergency, intensive care, day surgery and neonatology. Parents of critically ill children
are able to resident within the Childrens ward as cots are provided at a minimal cost.
The Fairfield Hospital is a teaching hospital of the University of NSW, and an Associate of the University
of Western Sydney, Macarthur. It has close affiliation with the University of Sydney - Cumberland Campus in
the training of Allied Health Professionals. Postgraduate training is available in Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry,
Anaesthetics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and General Practice.
Transport:
Buses from Fairfield and Cabramatta Stations (no: 826) stop on Polding Street and from there it is a short
walk down the footpath to the Hospital. There is also a bus from Fairfield Station that stops within the Hospital
grounds, outside of the Dental building.
Transitway:
A new transitway bus service has commenced providing a service between Liverpool and Parramatta train
stations. The nearest bus stop is situated on the opposite side to the Stockland Town Mall, which is a
10 to 15 minute walk. Tickets can be purchased via the Newsagency situated within Stocklands.
Parking:
Parking is provided within metres of the Hospital entrance at a fee of $4.00 per entry. Security is
available to escort staff and visitors to their car on request, if required.
Taxi Service:
A free phone service is available within the hospital to call for taxis. These phones are located in the
main foyer of the Emergency Department for your convenience.
Public Telephones:
Public telephones are available throughout the hospital on both levels. Phone cards may be purchased from
the Kiosk or Front Reception, situated within the hospital grounds.
Kiosk:
Be allured by the aroma of the best cappuccino in town. Our coffee shop is situated behind the main
stairwell of the hospital, providing friendly service and succulent snacks for both visitors and staff.
Open 8am-8pm 7 days a week.

The Fairfield Health Service is a unit of South Western Sydney Area Health Service comprising the
Fairfield Hospital, Community & Allied Health Centres. The health service has 699 FTE staff and
serves a population of approximately 188,889 in the Fairfield Local Government Area, with 133
nationalities and 70 languages.
The Fairfield Hospital provides the following subspecialty services:
Medicine
Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Haematology, Geriatrics and Rehabilitation and Paediatrics
Surgery
Urology, Breast, Colorectal, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and General Surgery
Allied Health
Social Work, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Speech Pathology, Pharmacy,
Podiatry and Medical Library.
Diagnostic
Pathology, Cytology, Fine Needle Aspiration, Radiology (spiral CT scan), Ultrasound including
endoscopic, Non-invasive cardiac testing including Stress testing, Endoscopy, Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy,
ERCP (diagnostic and interventional).
Community Health
Community Health provides a full range of services to meet the needs of the community of the Fairfield
Local Government Area. There are three Community Health Centres located within the Health Service:
Fairfield Community Health Centre is located on the corner of The Horsley Drive and Mitchell Street
Carramar. Cabramatta Community Health Centre is located on Levuka Street Cabramatta. Prairiewood Community
Health Centre is located on Prairievale Road Prairiewood (on the Hospital campus).
Primary Health Nursing, Paediatric Outreach Services, Ambulatory Care Services, Early Childhood and
Parenting Service, Palliative Care, Women’s Health Service (including health promotion and Well Women’s
Clinic), Multicultural Health Services, Child and Family Service (including counselling, parentcraft,
child development, speech and occupational therapy, physiotherapy and physical disabilities), Drug and
Alcohol Service (including needle & syringe exchange), Dental Service (including adult and children
services, SOKS program, relief of pain clinic, denture for pensioners scheme and children service).
