STARTTS is committed to the training and education of students
from a number of relevant disciplines. Students on recognised tertiary
placements are able to work in a number of projects or activities
within STARTTS' Community Services Team or clinical teams.
Recent student placements have included:
- Development of training modules for Families in Cultural Transition
(FICT)
- Social activities for temporary Protection Visa (TPV) holders
research project/needs assessment
- Development of mentoring programme for Specialist Migrant Placement
Programme(SMPP)
- Update and development of Asylum Seekers Booklet
- Research project for Spanish speaking womens' group, GRUMAS
- Development of community resource materials
- Youth work activities including attendance at camps
- Needs assessment report for Friends of STARTTS (FOS) volunteer
program
- Casemanagement
- Development of children's group program
