The Fairfield Community Counselling Service (FCCS) is a community
based health team consisting of Social Workers, Psychologists
and Bilingual Counsellors. The team provides counselling and
therapy for children, families and individual adults experiencing
a wide range of emotional, psychological, social and behavioural
problems
Services offered:
The team specialises in the treatment of adults and children
who are experiencing any of the following difficulties:
- Anxiety; general anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, obsessive
compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder
- Depression; including Post Natal Depression.
- Adjustment to life difficulties and transitions such as;
family breakdown, Grief and Bereavement
- Victims of domestic violence
- Eating and dieting disorders
- Critical Incident Stress
- Communication, Self Esteem and Confidence issues
- Emotional difficulties in adults and children
- Physical Abuse and Neglect of Children
- Conduct disorders
- Poor attendance and/or behaviour at school, lack of motivation,
difficulty making friends
- Timidity, fearfulness, phobias, nervous habits
- Nightmares
- Psychosomatic problems
- Parenting difficulties
Client Group (eg age, catchment area)
FCCS targets children 0-12 years, families and individual
adults residing in the Fairfield Local Government Area
Hours of operation
FCCS operates from 8.30-5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Information booklets on postnatal depression, parenting,
and domestic violence are available in; Vietnamese, Spanish,
Chinese, and English.
Language services provision (eg Interpreters
available, bilingual staff)
The team has Bilingual Counsellors for the Spanish, Vietnamese
and Chinese speaking communities. Interpreters can be arranged
for other non-English speaking groups.
