The service aims to improve the functional communication
and swallowing of clients through therapy/intervention and
education.
Services offered
HOSPITAL IN-PATIENTS
- Assessment and intervention of swallowing and feeding
difficulties.
- Assessment and intervention of speech and language/communication
difficulties.
THROUGH THE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES
- Assessment and intervention of children with language,
speech, voice, swallowing and stuttering difficulties.
- Therapy can be in a one-to-one or group program.
- Adult Education eg. parent education, Family Language
Inservice Program (FLIP)
- Teacher Education eg School Inservice Program (SIP)
- Outreach feeding clinic for babies
- Support Class Language
Client Group
The Fairfield Health Service Speech Pathology team offers
service to medically referred In-patients at Fairfield hospital
and to children between 0-16 years of age who reside in the
Fairfield Local Government Area provided they meet the criteria
listed below.
Hours of operation
8:30 to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays.

Eligibility or entry criteria
- Hospital: medical referral only and for condition related
to admission.
- Community Health: Child aged 0-16 years who reside in
the Fairfield Local Government Area and intellectual ability
is the mild or above range.
