The dietetics department promote and support the health of
people, and contribute to the recovery of health by means
of good nutrition.
The department has 3 full-time and 2 part-time dietitians
as well as 6 technical staff.
Services offered:
- Outpatient Clinics including general diabetes, gestational
diabetes, general rehabilitation & healthy eating, which
caters for a variety of conditions requiring nutritional
intervention
- Group Education Sessions for people with diabetes and
weight reduction and to various community groups, including
NESB.
- Provide information and support to both Inpatients and
outpatients with regards to their dietary needs.
- Source of nutritional information for the general public
Client Group
Outpatient clinics cover all age groups, according to referral.
Individuals with a whole range of nutrition related diseases,
including Obesity, malnutrition, Diabetes, CHD, swallowing
and eating difficulties, Renal failure, etc.
Hours of operation:
The Dietetics department is open from 8:30a.m to to 5:30
p.m Monday to Friday. The patient meal service is open 7 days
a week from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm . Outpatient's Clinics operates
on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.00 am to 4.00 p.m.

Eligibility or entry criteria
- Patients must have a Doctors referral to attend any of
the outpatient clinics.
- For Inpatients referrals from a medical officer, nursing
staff and allied health are accepted.
Is there translated information for clients
Yes: We have Educational Resources for Diabetes Education
in the following languages: Arabic, Italian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
There are also translated resources in Spanish for CHD and
Healthy eating during pregnancy.
Language services provision
There is a significant number of bilingual staff within the
department. This includes Arabic, Spanish and Italian speaking
dietitians. Cambodian, Turkish and Croatian amongst the support
staff.
